Power. The churches hearing Revelation for the first time were familiar with a beastly, coercive, violent, corrupt power that stood against them. Revelation 5 reminds us that the Lamb alone is worthy to reign over the unfolding of history, and as his followers, we follow His way in the world until He comes again. (Revelation 5:1-14)
