JOIN US FOR WORSHIP

Worship isn’t about performance; it’s about participation.

This Worship Guide serves as a weekly resource as we join in singing, praying, and celebrating the work God is doing in our community.

Whether you’re at the Lyric Theatre or tuning into our live stream, we’re so glad you are joining us!

Let’s jump in.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:1-5

PRAYING TOGETHER

Key Thoughts:

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:14-16 NIV

GROWING TOGETHER IN COMMUNITY

Start your time together by having a few people share where they’ve seen God at work in their lives throughout the week.

God is not contained to a service or a building. We want to live with the expectation that God is present and at work in the everyday stuff of our lives. We listen, join him in his work, and share stories of how he’s moving!

Talk It Over

1. The past couple of years have given us plenty of darkness to see in the world around us. Yet as John 1:5 reminds us, darkness has not (and will not!) overcome. What are some of the little glimmers of light that have broken through and reminded you of the hope we have in Jesus?

2. John 8:12 makes it clear that “the light of life” is experienced and received as we follow Jesus – who is Himself the light. Heading into the New Year, what are some ways you want to draw nearer to God? What would you change to see this become a reality?
