This past Sunday, we continued our Friended series by looking at the topic of forgiveness. Relationships are messy, right? We can shut down comparison, we can improve our communication, we can handle conflict in a healthy way…. but if we can’t forgive, our relationships can never fully flourish. Below you’ll find the links to the podcast, Scripture, and community questions to help you take the next step!

Scripture: Luke 15:11-24
Community Questions:
Relationships are messy. All of us, at one time or another, had struggled to forgive someone. If you’re comfortable share a time – maybe even right now – where you’ve struggled to forgive someone who had hurt you.
Ephesians 4:32 tells us to “forgive as the Lord forgave you.” The forgiveness we receive in Jesus is central to our faith, and yet it’s often in the peripheral of our daily lives. How often do you remember and consider the forgiveness you have in Jesus? How does it shape how you see God?
In Luke 15, the Father forgives not by ignoring the cost, but by bearing the cost himself. How does this shape the way you understand His forgiveness for you? Even more, how does this transform the way we offer forgiveness to others?
Put In Practice
1. Acknowlege the cost – don’t ignore it. 2. Remember the debt that was paid for you. 3. Bring the cost to the One who can bear it. || Where are you on your journey of forgiveness? Who do you need to forgive? Spend time this week being honest about your hurts. Take whatever next step God leads you into to forgive.
