In this season where our Church is unable to gather as a whole family for worship, we’re seeking to equip our Restoration family for God’s work among them – right where they are. That’s what Home Church is all about: giving you tools to gather with community groups or other believers (*safely* in person or online) for a shared experience of worship with the whole Restoration family. Below, you’ll find three movements of worship together: Worship (praise and prayer), Word (opening the Scriptures), and Witness (talking it out and living it out. So whether with a community group or a friend or two, let’s worship together! (Kids Resources Here!)

Worship is the continual process of orienting our hearts around that which we value most. Each Sunday, we worship in song and prayer to offer our hearts and allegience to Jesus, who alone is worthy of our praise. In your Home Churches, we encourage worship through the use of the video below or by worship in person. If you cannot participate through song in your group, spend time answering this question:

What do I have to praise God for this week?

Prayer for the week:

Emmanuel, God With Us,

Today we praise you for your presence.
We praise you for the breath of your Spirit
That fills every living thing, that fills all in all.
Cornerstone, Giver of Life,
Today we thank you for inhabiting our praise.
We thank you for breathing life into us,
Making us living stones in the House of Love.
We praise you for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
We praise you as your Spirit of belonging empowers us.
We praise you for unifying us at the table,
Where we made to be like you. Amen.

This Week’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Whether among your community group or a few friends over Zoom, we want to challenge you to move beyond just knowledge and information and into practicing the way of Jesus in your everyday life! But we do this together. Below you’ll find some questions to discuss, as well as next steps for living it out!

  1. Every follower of Jesus is empowered for mission in our world. So – in your Home Church, what what it look like if everyone had something to bring to the Table?
  2. Look at 1 Corinthians 12:7. Spiritual gifts aren’t simply for individuals, but for the common good of every believer in the community. Why is it so important to discover and cultivate our gifts within community?
  3. Can you share a time when you were encouraged or moved by the spiritual gifts of another believer? How did it impact your faith journey?

Practice: Live Into Your Gifts.  The New Testament makes it clear that every believer is empowered for the work of God. This week, look over and pray over this Spiritual Gifts guide and talk with your Home Church about how you sense God leading you to use your gifts together. Talk through how each person’s giftings might build up and equip the whole community.  (Learn more about Spiritual Gifts from our People of the Presence series last year. Reminder: If you’re in a Home Church, talk through your plan. (HomeGroupPlanningGuide)
