HOME CHURCH GUIDE
In this season where our Church is unable to gather as a whole family for worship, weโre seeking to equip our Restoration family for Godโs work among them โ right where they are. Thatโs what Home Church is all about: giving you tools to gather with community groups or other believers (*safely* in person or online) for a shared experience of worship with the whole Restoration family. Below, youโll find three movements of worship together: Worship (praise and prayer), Word (opening the Scriptures), and Witness (talking it out and living it out. So whether with a community group or a friend or two, letโs worship together!
FAMILY WORSHIP GUIDE

WORSHIP: PRAISE AND PRAYER
Worship is the continual process of orienting our hearts around that which we value most. Each Sunday, we worship in song and prayer to offer our hearts and allegience to Jesus, who alone is worthy of our praise. In your Home Churches, we encourage worship through the use of the video below or by worship in person. If you cannot participate through song in your group, spend time answering this question:
What do I have to praise God for this week?
Prayer for the week:
With abiding humility
And earnest repentance
We surrender to God, the source of life.
We surrender to the gardener, the pruner,
The author and perfecter,
The patient hands of Love
That weed, water, and prune.
We surrender all to you,
Our blessed savior. You are our maker,
Our sustainer, our every breath.
We trust your steady hand
As we remain in you, bearing the fruit
We were made to bear.
May we stand firm in hope and love
As we abide in this holy communion
With you, our God. Amen.
WITNESS: TALK AND LIVE IT OUT
This Weekโs Scripture: Luke 13:1-9
Whether among your community group or a few friends over Zoom, we want to challenge you to move beyond just knowledge and information and into practicing the way of Jesus in your everyday life! But we do this together. Below youโll find some questions to discuss, as well as next steps for living it out!
Studying The Scriptures Together
- There is a common belief โ both in the time of Jesus and now โ that what we have and experience in this life is the result of what weโve earned and deserved. Where have you seen this mentality displayed in our world?
- Jesusโ parable in Luke 13 speaks of Godโs patience and persistance in producing fruit in our lives. Looking back on your story, where have you most clearly experienced Godโs patience?
- Luke 3:8 tells us โProduce fruit in keeping with repentance.โ Instead of a one-time event, the Bible sees repentance as a continual process of submission that bears Godโs fruit in our lives. As you consider this, how might we intentionality and consistently stay in a posture of repentance?
