This Week’s Scripture: Psalm 24
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it on the seas
and established it on the waters.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.[a]
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord
and vindication from God their Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, God of Jacob.[b][c]
7 Lift up your heads, you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle.

10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—

Community Questions
- Psalm 24:1-2 remind us that our Creator God still is sovereign over the whole earth. As you’ve looked out on creation this week, where have you seen His power on display?
- The word glory is Hebrew is kavod, meaning “weight” or “significance.” We turn to idols when things other than God consume more weight or significance in our hearts. What are some of the things that carry too much weight in your life?
- Like the Israelites, we’re all longing for the powers of darkness and oppression to be toppled and the world to be put to rights. In spite of our difficult circumstances, where have you seen the restoring power of God at work around you?
- When you experience your own sin, do you feel confident coming to God with confidence of His grace? How do you picture His response to you when you experience your own brokenness? Is He angry… or loving? What would run to God in our sin – not away from Him – look like?
Community Practice
Holy Week Meditations. This week marks the journey towards the cross and resurrection of Jesus as we celebration the resurrection. This week, turn your attention to the cross of Jesus. Read passages like Isaiah 53, Romans 5:1-11, Colossians 2:6-15, Mark 8:31-38, and Luke 23. Consider the sacrifice of Jesus not simply for the world, but for you. Spend time in prayer offering God your sin, guilt, and shame, and in return, receive the righteousness (wholeness) we have been given in Him.
