You have questions.
A new building? A giving campaign? These are some monumental steps forward for our congregation, and we know they come with questions. So below we’ve compiled some of the most common and important questions we’re expecting you to ask in the days ahead. Our aim is simple: to give you confidence to join what God is already doing at Restoration. We’re excited about our future – and we hope you are, too!
Why are we moving to Arlington Christian Church?
After almost a decade of gathering as a mobile church, Restoration is seeking a permanent home to put down roots and grow. We believe this next step in our story will not only provide for our needs in the present, but will lay a foundation for our congregation to flourish for years to come.
When will this move take place?
We plan to have our first Sunday of worship at Arlington Christian Church at 11:30 am on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Our last Sunday at the Lyric will be on February 22 with a Family Meal to celebrate and close our time there.
Wait, did you say 11:30 am? Is the time changing?
Good catch! Yes, in order to accommodate Arlington Christian Church’s service at 10:00 am each week, we will be moving Restoration’s gathering time to 11:30 am.
I was happy at the Lyric. Why should I contribute to this campaign?
We loved our time at the Lyric! However, we were limited by space and availability of the building outside Sunday mornings. The size of Arlington will allow us to put roots down for kids, students, and the congregation as a whole. Also, because of changes at the Lyric our monthly rent would have increased substantially and there would have been more requirements and restrictions on continuing to worship there. With the move to Arlington, we have the opportunity to partner with another like-minded congregation and build a long-term future for Restoration.
What type of relationship will we have with Arlington Christian Church? Are we merging with them?
Arlington Christian Church is a 100+ year old church with longstanding roots in the East End. They own the building and will continue to worship at their own independent service at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings. Their congregation includes a couple dozen long-time members who care deeply about sharing their beautiful building for kingdom work.
Restoration will have a wing solely used by our congregation, with classrooms dedicated to children’s ministry, student ministry, and classrooms for groups. In addition, Restoration will have dedicated offices during the week for our staff. While the sanctuary will be used by both congregations, our equipment will remain in place (no setup and teardown!). We will also have access to the building for special gatherings and groups to meet outside of Sunday morning. For more on Arlington, visit here.
What is the goal of the Future Fund?
The Future Fund is a two-year campaign to raise $150,000 above regular giving to support ministry growth as we transition to our new building at Arlington Christian Church.
While the church is covering the $30,000 in one-time moving costs from our surplus, this new space opens doors for expanded ministry that requires increased investment. The Future Fund will support four key areas:
- Kids/Students Programming & Development ($35,000) – Dedicated spaces and resources for our next generation to grow and thrive in their faith
- Facility Costs & Improvements ($55,000) – Lease increase, utilities, cleaning, and improvements to care for the space and make it truly ours
- Staffing & Leadership Development ($25,000) – Additional staffing plus leadership development for our growing community
- Mission Expansion & Community Restoration ($35,000) – Expanding our missional giving and capacity to love our neighbors well through both consistent investment and responsive action to real needs in our community
This is an invitation for everyone to prayerfully consider how they can invest in this vision over the next two years—whether that’s $10 a month or $1,000. We’ve been faithful with little, and now God is entrusting us with more.

How does the Future Fund differ from regular giving?
The Future Fund is a two-year campaign to raise $150,000 above regular giving to support ministry growth as we move to our new building at Arlington Christian Church.
Your regular giving supports our ongoing operations—staff salaries, Sunday gatherings, family meals, and current ministries. We need you to continue that faithfulness.
The Future Fund is different—it’s a separate, additional commitment to invest in four specific areas of growth:
- Kids/Students Programming & Development ($35,000)
- Facility Costs & Improvements ($55,000)
- Staffing & Leadership Development ($25,000)
- Mission Expansion & Community Restoration ($35,000)
The church is covering the $30,000 in one-time moving costs from our surplus. The Future Fund addresses the increased ongoing costs that come with this expanded space and mission—things like higher rent, expanded staff roles, and greater capacity for missional giving and community impact.
We strive to be good financial stewards of our resources. As a church, we’re going first and putting our stake in the ground. Now we’re inviting you to join us in this next chapter. Our prayer is that more people join in the work God is doing at Restoration during this campaign, so that by its conclusion, our expanded operating costs are fully covered by our growing community.
If you have specific questions about our budget, please email giving@restorationlex.com.
What’s the difference between a pledge and a donation?
A pledge is a promise to give and a donation is a gift. We are collecting pledge cards as a commitment to give a specific amount over the next two years. This helps our leadership with long-term planning. A donation is an immediate transfer of funds or goods to Restoration. You can do this online, in the Church Center app, or by cash or check. Make sure you select “Future Fund” when donating online or include the amount on the memo line of your check to be counted towards your pledge.
Is it tax deductible?
Your donations to Restoration Church are tax deductible. We will provide a yearly giving statement for your records. For specific financial advice, please contact a tax professional.
How long do I have to pay my pledge?
This is a two-year commitment beginning in January 2026. You may pay your pledge at any time during that timeframe. We hope to collect all pledged giving before February 2028.
What if I can’t give a lot?
Gifts are based on prayerful sacrifice, not specific amounts. We encourage you to focus on your personal giving journey, not on matching others. Even making small cuts to your weekly household budget can make a big difference!

What if my financial situation changes before the end of the two-year period?
If your financial circumstances change at any time during the giving phase, your pledge may be increased or decreased by notifying giving@restorationlex.com.
As always, you can update your recurring giving or payment methods online or in the Church Center app.
What if I want to make donations of stock, insurance, real estate, or IRA distributions?
Fantastic! Thank you for considering assets in addition to cash for the Future Fund! For many people this is the best (and smartest) way to give. Giving stocks, property, or other appreciated assets as a charitable donation is beneficial to both you and the church. Please email us at giving@restorationlex.com and we will talk about the details.
What if I have in-kind goods or services to donate?
Thanks for offering! We are working on a detailed list of items needed in our new space, particularly for five new rooms for kids’ ministry and a dedicated space for our students that we will make available soon. The church that is moving out of Arlington will be leaving some of their items but we won’t know exactly what until late spring. If you have something you would like to offer before the in-kind donation list is complete, please email us at giving@restorationlex.com.
Will the volunteer needs be different from what I’m used to at the Lyric?
Our staff is currently determining the exact volunteer needs in a new space that is laid out differently than the Lyric. We know that we won’t have to set up and tear down every week. There will be specific rooms for different age groups in Restoration Kids. Greeters will likely be needed in multiple locations. And there could be things we haven’t even thought of yet! These changes may mean a shift in volunteer roles and/or need for additional positions. We will be in touch with current volunteers about changes soon. If you would like to sign up to volunteer in the new building, fill out the Connect Card.
Can I visit Arlington before we begin gathering there?
Yes! We are planning two open house tours of the building on Sunday, February 1st and Sunday, February 15th at 12:30pm right after our services. You’ll have the opportunity to get a sneak peak at our new home and ask questions. We can’t wait for you to see it!
Do I have to attend Restoration Church to contribute to the Future Fund?
No! We believe that individuals, families, and organizations outside of Restoration may feel called to contribute to the kingdom work of Restoration at Arlington Christian Church. Whether you have attended in the past, want to invest in the work God is doing in our church community, have an interest in a thriving North Limestone neighborhood, or would like a place to support through giving, you’re generosity makes a big impact!
