We are excited to announce our partnership with Shiloh Baptist Church on a Back-To-School Backpack Giveaway that will serve kids from all over the East End of downtown Lexington. Every year, the YMCA provides backpacks and school supplies for kids in need across Lexington, and churches all over downtown work together to pass out backpacks and throw a big party!
On August 5th from 9am-12pm, we’ll have games, giveaways, face-painting, and free food in the parking lot of Shiloh Baptist Church (237 E Fifth St, Lexington, KY 40508). This is an awesome opportunity to serve kids and families in our neighborhood, and we need your help!
Here’s How You Can Help!
We need:
- 20 Volunteers for face-painting, backpack distribution and games.
- Books for kids K-12. We will be offering these books to kids for free. (put in bin in the back)
- Bottled Waters and Juices for kids the event. (put in bin in the back)
